News Death Notice
ALBAUGH, Darrell E. 88, of New Carlisle, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2012. He was born on August 20, 1924 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Clyde and Viola (Montgomery) Albaugh. Darrell proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII, stationed in England and N. Ireland, where he met his devoted wife of 61 years, the late Jeanne (Boyce) Albaugh. Darrell retired from WPAFB after 30 years of service with AFLC. He served his community on the New Carlisle Board of Public Affairs, was a member of the New Carlisle Masonic Lodge 100, the New Carlisle and Donnelscreek Church of the Brethern. Darrell was an accomplished woodworker, who enjoyed making furniture for his family, which he felt was his greatest accomplishment. Leaving to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted children, son, Darrell "Mike" & Barbara Albaugh; daughter, Bonnie & Richard Hardacre, all of New Carlisle, Ohio; four grandchildren, Michael (Jewel) Albaugh of Asheville, NC; Patrick (Dana) Albaugh of Crystal Lakes; Jennifer (Jerry) Hardacre-Meddock of New Carlisle; Andrew (Dana) Hardacre of Beavercreek; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Rebekah, Gavin and Reid Hardacre; seven step great-grandchildren, Josh and Seth Foxworth, Ashley Vasquez, Jordan and Tyler Meddock, Myka Jerrels, and Trinity Albaugh; five step great-great-grandchildren; sister, Freda (Roger) Schroer; sister-in-law, Phylis Albaugh all of Sidney, Ohio; numerous beloved nieces and nephews in the U.S., N. Ireland and South Africa. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his cherished brother, William Albaugh. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, from 4-8 PM with a Masonic Service at 7:30 PM in the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR AND FRALEY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral service will be held at the Ohio Masonic Home Springfield, Hillman building chapel with Rev. Scott Fetter officiating, on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 11 AM with a one hour prior visitation. Burial will take place at the Myers Cemetery. I remember when I was younger, my mom and dad playing cards with jeannie and Darrell, and boy could they all get loud and crazy. Love them all, miss those days!!!

I will always remmber Mr. Darrell, he was always calling me (sweet lips). He would tell me about his wife and about Irland, His smile and laugh I will remmber also, RIP Mr. Darrell, I will miss you. Love Kathelene Hughes your Aide and friend.
