William D. QUINN

News Death Notice

QUINN, William D. 53, of Springfield, died Monday, May 20, 2013, following a brief illness. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 28, 1959, the son of Hugh E. and Beverly A. (Knaus) Quinn. He was a 1977 graduate of Catholic Central High School and received a Chick Evans Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He received a bachelor of science from Findlay University graduating Magna Cum Laude. He worked as an occupational therapist at several nursing homes in the area as well as an assistant supervisor at Wal Mart in the evenings. He was the author of two published books and one as yet to be published. In addition to his mother, Bill is survived by a daughter, Madyson Quinn of Columbus; brothers and sisters, Taryn Quinn of Springfield, Jennifer (Jack) Lincks of Boise, Idaho, Timothy Allen (Julia) Quinn of New Bern, North Carolina, and James Edward Quinn of Springfield; nieces and nephews, Erica and Kevin Quinn, Kaitlyn, Evan and Brian Quinn, Hugh Quinn III, and Mia (Jason) Quinn Adams; and his fiance', Beth Cox of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Hugh Ernest Quinn Jr. A service in celebration of Bill's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Craig Grammer officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the or Community Mercy Hospice, 444 W. Harding Rd., Springfield, OH 45504.
