Gary SIBCY Obituary
SIBCY, Gary A. Age 79, of Middletown Ohio, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. He was born in Hamilton, OH on October 21, 1939, to Wallace and Mary Lou (Borders) Sibcy. Gary served in the Marine Corp. right after high school and a few years after returning from duty, he began working for United Parcel Service in 1968. He delivered packages in Lebanon Ohio until he was afflicted by severe rheumatoid arthritis at age 45. He refused to go on disability and drove the double-trailer big rig another 17-years until he retired in 2001, with over 30-years of safe driving. After retirement, he moved to Lynchburg, Virginia to be with his son and grandchildren. Gary, known affectionately by family and friends as Red, was a loving and supportive father and grandfather, a loyal brother, a faithful friend, and a kind, fun-loving uncle. He was an avid golfer and lover of facts and figureswith encyclopedic knowledge of history and geography. He was a man of perseverance, modeling to others how to live life with joy and passion in the midst of physical pain. He is survived by his son, Gary A. Sibcy II and step-daughters Paula (Espisito) Meinhardt and Pam Espisito; daughter-in-law Lory W. Sibcy and grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Sibcy; sister Linda (Sibcy) Zehler and brother Paul Sibcy and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brothers Glen and Daniel Sibcy. Funeral service will include a grave-side service held at Miltonville Cemetery on December, 8th, at 4:00 p.m, immediately followed by a memorial service at Jacksonville United Methodist Church.
