JoAnn Thompson Obituary
THOMPSON, JoAnn 93, of Springfield, passed away peacefully with her husband Bob and son Bill by her side on Wednesday November 7, 2018. JoAnn was born in Fairmont, West Virginia, on April 5,1925. She was the daughter of the late Theodore G. and Georgia Hale Harms. JoAnn retired from the Central United Methodist Church where she was the Educational Assistant and Librarian for 11 years. Prior to that she worked at Northridge School as a Teachers Aid. JoAnn met her husband Bob at a cook out, in her hometown of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. After they met, JoAnn said Bob called her every day. They were married on June 7, 1944 in Springfield, Ohio, at Central United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 74 years Bob, two sons and their spouses: Bill & Maureen of Springfield and John & Debbie of Uniontown, Ohio; three grandchildren and their spouses: Ashley & Chris Tuco of Arcanum, Ohio; Cassandra & Adam Rogers of Uniontown, Ohio; and Emily & Jonathon McDuffie of Springfield; three great grandchildren: Gavin Tuco of Arcanum, Harper McDuffie of Springfield and Wyatt Rogers of Uniontown. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ted Harms, sister, Jean Phrogner and grandson, Jeremiah Tuco. A memorial visitation will be held at the Northridge United Methodist Church on Monday, November 12th from 1:00 2:00 with the Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ken Woode officiating. The family would like to thank Oakwood Village and Miami Valley Hospice for the care they provided to JoAnn.
