HERALD, Laura Delia Age 87 of Dayton transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Born September 22, 1931 in Newark, NJ. A longtime resident of Dayton, Ohio. She was a faithful member, missionary and steward of the Church of God in Christ. She faithfully attended St. Paul Community Church for more than 35 years where she was an active member in the Women's Group as well as several other ministries. She was also a talented pianist who provided her services for the church regularly. A proud graduate of Wilberforce University. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She retired from the Dayton VA Medical Center as a Chemist. She also spent time in her lengthy career at Revlon, Inc. and other independent labs in the Dayton area. After her retirement, she worked diligently with the Miami Valley Literacy Council. Preceded in death by her parents, Major McKinley and Beatrice (Hines) Taylor; children: Terri, Frankye and Rudolph Herald; siblings: William, Dorothy and Mildred. She leaves to cherish loving memories, son: Richard (Sandra); grandchildren: Maurice, Quentin, Blake and Eliza Herald; great-grandchildren: Antoine Jr., Macayla, Devin, and Macy Wilson, affectionately known as her "great grannies," along with a host of loving relatives and friends. Funeral Service 11 A.M., Saturday, December 8, 2018 at St. Paul Community Church, 2190 Fairport Ave. The family will receive friends at 10 A.M. Interment, Shiloh Park Cemetery.
