Raymond Gaier Obituary
GAIER, Raymond H. Of Huber Heights, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the age of 88; born November 3, 1929 in Springfield, Ohio to Raymond & Lucille. He was a retired Lt. Col. for the U.S. Army with 21 years of service during the Korean & Vietnam Wars and then retired as a Procurement Analyst for WPAFB after an additional 20 years. Raymond was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, VFW Post 3238, American Legion Post 586 Tipp City, Disabled American Veterans, MOAA, Knights of Columbus 4424, Huber Heights Senior Citizens, St. Vincent DePaul, Optimist Club of Huber Heights, Elks Lodge 58, Local Coordinator for the AARP Tax Program and volunteered at the Water Sewer Board & Tax Appeals Board for the City of Huber Heights. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Elizabeth A. "Betty"; sisters, Clara May Reeb, Joan Ohrt; and brother, Don. Ray is survived by his children, Ray (Colleen) Gaier III, Patti (Kelly) Blakely, Jeff (Chris Anne) Gaier, Jeanne (Michael) Cregan, Cathy (Phil) Dreyer, Theresa (Denny) Denlinger, and Greg (Trisha) Gaier; and brother, Tony (Bev); in-laws, Joan Menut and Don Trumbly. He leaves 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road with Father Ethan Moore celebrant. Inurnment will be at Dayton National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Tuesday at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul or in Raymond's memory.
