BECKETT, Judith 79, of Springfield died Sunday July 20, at 12:26 am at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Mechanicsburg on November 7, 1934, the daughter of Alfred C. and Eleanor (Copeland) Northup, Sr. She was married on August 23, 1969 in West Virginia to Charles P. Beckett. She attended Springfield High School. She was the bookkeeper/truck driver for the family business well known as "Little Dirt." She is survived by her step-mother Koneta Northup of Belleview, Florida; two sisters Sally Hulcher of Jackson, Michigan and Patricia (Roger) Glass of Columbus Grove; two brothers Alfred (Anna) Northup, Jr. and Kerry Northup all of Lima; five children Douglas (Frances) Northup of Orlando, Florida, Cheryl Ann (Tim) Stillwell of Grove City, Lori (Ricky) Bowshier, Cheryl Mae (John) O'Dell both of Springfield, and Todd (Tammy) Beckett of New Carlisle; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; and her favorite companion "Bones." She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, brother-in-law Jim Hulcher, step-son Marshall Beckett, step-daughter Deborhea Grimes, grandson Matthew Northup, and beloved companion "Jackie." She was an avid sports fan, Nascar fanatic, and devout bingo player at her hometown VFW. Charitable contributions can be made to her VFW Post 1031, 1237 E. Main St. Springfield, Ohio 45505. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
