News Death Notice
MURNAHAN, Portia Gwendolyn 71 of Springfield passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012. She was born on January 14, 1941 to Paul and Zora (Crawford) Gartin. She is survived by her loving husband John of 52 years; sons John Paul (crystal), Donald (Sally), Ronald (Twila) all of Springfield; daughter Bridget (Jim) Haecherl of New Carlisle; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers Alonzo (Rhonda) and Doug Gartin of South Charleston; sisters Jonda Gartin of South Charleston, LaRae Rice and Kathy Gartin of Springfield and JoLynne Gartin of New Carlisle; several nieces and nephews. Portia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Rosemary Craft, Dorothy Masters, JoAnna Haslam, and twins Paul Allen and Pauline Gartin. Services to honor Portia will be Wednesday at 7:00pm in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Pastor Charles Wertz of Journey of Faith officiating. Family and friends may call two hours prior to services. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com

John and family, my prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of a wonderful woman,wife, mother, sister, etc. Portia always greeted everyone with a smile. Just know that she is with God and she is no longer in pain and confined. Each of you are blessed for taking such loving care of her. It was my honor to have met Portia and her family.
