Penfield, Marilyn
Marilyn Penfield, 81, of Stamford passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on March 25, 2013. She was born in Watsonville California on July 26, 1931, the daughter of the late Georgie and Vernot Jones.

She was married to Jack Penfield in 1955. Together they raised three children: two daughters Lee Ann Mistretta of New Canaan and Jennifer Moore of Wilton and a son Gregory of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They have nine grandchildren two great grand daughters and a grandson.
A resident of Stamford since 1970. Her volunteer activities included a 20 year stretch with "Meals on Wheels", Brownie and Girl Scout leader, 12 years at the Rosenthal Hospice Residence and several years at the Stamford Historical Society and Smith House Residence.
Marilyn was always there for others whether stranger or close friend. She also worked for several years at the Weed and Turn of River Branches of the Ferguson Library.
She was a long time member of the North Stamford Congregational Church where in the 70's she taught Sunday school and chaired its Christian Ed Committee. She later edited its newsletter and until recently was the Church Historian.
