William Arnow Obituary

William "Willie" Arnow
William Raymond Arnow, affectionately known as Willie, Willis, or Hillbilly Willie, passed away as a result of a snowmobiling accident on the evening of Tuesday, February 9, 2021. A native of Stamford, Willie was born August 25, 1987 to Roger W. Arnow, Jr. (Willie) and Marylee Arnow, née Saunders. He was 33 years old at the time of his passing.
Willie was that rare combination of a Man/Child. When it was time to work, be it excavating, laboring, truck/machine repair or job site management - he was never not up to the task (which was the Man part) - but when the work was done, it was now time to have fun. Kind of like the Kenney Chesney song "We went Out Last Night".
From sky diving, monster truck shows, four wheeling through trails complete with his favorite combination of water and mud (and the occasional garage door), boating, snowmobiling (his personal favorite) and of course hanging out and laughing with all of his friends.
Life was not a labor for Willie. He embraced it with a spirit and ferocity matched by none. His infectious love of life, his friends, his family, and most of all his mom, Marylee, his dad, Willie Sr., and his sister, Pam, go unequalled. His legacy of helping others, be they friends, relatives, co-workers, or people he barely knew, will live on in our hearts forever.
Life was his show and, thankfully, we were blessed to appear in it. But now it's time to roll the credits… Willie was: Adventurous, a Character, FEARLESS, a Friend, Fun, Generous, LARGER THAN LIFE, a Legend, Loveable, Loving, Outgoing, POWERFUL, Shameless!!, Thoughtful, Unique and Unpredictable. These credits were provided by your friends, Willie. We miss you and love you more.
Willie is survived by his parents, his sister Pam, his grandmother Ida Saunders, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Roger and Janet Arnow.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. during the visitation. The interment will be held privately at a later date.
In accordance with the state COVID-19 restrictions please be sure to wear a face covering and observe social distancing standards when attending the services at the funeral home. Also, due to limits placed on businesses by the state we kindly request that you also limit your time inside the funeral home to allow others the opportunity to pay their respect and offer condolences to Willie's family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Willie's name can be made to Project Precious Rescue, P.O. Box 17307 Stamford, CT 06907, or online at www.pprct.org.

I’m saddened by this news. Just wanted to extend my condolences to the Arnow and Saunders families! My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. In the short time I knew Willie I can easily say he cared about everyone around him and was passionate about everything he did. He was always so helpful on the job and not seeing him on site won’t be the same. Wishing all of Willies family and friends peace and comfort to face the days ahead.
Rest In Peace Willie — Godspeed

There really are not enough words to sum up the person you were. They did hit the nail on the head but there are so many more. You truly were always there for anyone of your friends or family and it was never an inconvenience. You were one of the great ones and in your short time you really did make a huge impact on everyone that you met. My condolences to your family and friends. You truly will be missed. There will never be another YOU! Your genuine nature and infectious laugh and humor will be missed by all.
