Joanne Rybnick, longtime resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. Joanne was born in Bridgeport, CT on January 4, 1935 to the late Thomas Uva and Antoinette D'Onofrio. She was 81 years old at the time of her passing.
Joanne was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Her family was her passion. She dedicated her life to caring for her loving husband, children and grandchildren. She was known by everyone for her loving nature and for the compassion she had for others.
Joanne is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Rybnick, Sr.; daughter, Rhonda Megale; son, Robert Rybnick Jr., and his wife, Lisa; her grandchildren; Michael Megale, Lauren Megale, Nicole Molgano, and husband Jeff, and Jackie and Gyllian Rybnick. Joanne is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-laws; Marilyn Capoccia (Jerome), Dorothy Pensiero (Orlando), Arlene Margarum (Wayne), Laura Bubbico (Richard) and sister in-law, Ceil Uva. In addition to her parents, Joanne is predeceased by her son in-law, Tony Megale; brother, Thomas Uva and her sister, Carla Casolo.
Joanne's family will receive the sympathy and condolences of friends and family on Sunday, September 9th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT, 06902. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, September 10th at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Parish, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT 06902. The interment will immediately follow mass at Queen of Peace cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, in Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged and may be made in Joanne's name to the Bennett Cancer Center, 1351 Washington Blvd., Suite 202, Stamford, CT 06902 or online at stamfordhospitalfoundation.org/donate.
