Barbara A. "BB" Bindas Obituary

Barbara A. "BB" Bindas, 79, passed away suddenly Thursday at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was of Catholic faith and a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Hazleton.

In her early years, Barbara was a licensed practical nurse at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. After she married, she worked at Fabri-Kal for 30 years, where she served a term as president of the local branch of the USW. She was also an avid Bingo player and enjoyed going to the casino. But most of all, she loved and lived for her grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, Stephen and Mary (Dzurenda) Suvada; her husband of 30 years, John G. Bindas; a brother, Stephen L. Suvada; sister-in-law, Dolores Lettiere; and brother-in-law, Nicholas Furnanage.

Barbara is survived by daughters, Traci Bindas, Hazleton; Tami Bindas and fiancé, James Perchak, Hazleton; and son, John J. Bindas and wife, Vanessa, Drums; and grandchildren, John T. Bindas and Kaitlyn Bindas. Also surviving is sister, Dolores Suvada; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Suvada, Virginia; and Eleanor Furnanage, Sugarloaf Twp. In addition, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Private services for immediate family will be held Monday at John J. Pusti Funeral Home Inc., Hazleton.

Fr. Peter Donish, of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, will have a prayer service at the funeral home and have committal prayers at graveside in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
