Ettore J. Christie Obituary

Ettore (Ector) Christie passed away Thursday at his residence at Essex House in Lemoyne, surrounded by his loving family.

Ector, formerly of Camp Hill, was born March 17, 1926, in Hazleton, son of the late Silvio and Catherine Rossi Christie.

Ector was a longtime parishioner and extraordinary minister at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. After serving his country in World War II as a member of the US Army, Ector joined the former Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania where he worked for 40 years.

He enjoyed walking, gardening, puzzle solving and many years of post-retirement traveling with his wife Jean.

Ector was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean, to whom he was happily married for 65 years; and by his younger brother, Albert.

He is survived by his two sons, Gary (Peg), Mechanicsburg; and Kenneth (Kathy), Troy, Mich.; two daughters, Marie Gajewski, Enola; and Judith (Rob) Domby, Camp Hill; eight grandchildren, Allison, Josef, Katherine, Keith, Kimberly, Kyle, Matthew and Meghan; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ector's family would like to especially thank the management and staff of Essex House who always treated him like their own family. We would also like to thank Griswold Home Care Management and Staff and Ector's numerous caregivers for their wonderful care and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 Trindle Road, Camp Hill. There will be a viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg.

An additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 270, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
