Madelyn Y. Wolfe Obituary

Madelyn Y. Wolfe, 87, of Conyngham passed away Thursday evening in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton following an illness.

Born in Nescopeck on April 12, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Rena (Fedder) Reese and spent the past 55 years in Conyngham after moving from Chambersburg.

Madelyn was a retired teacher's aide for Sugarloaf Twp. and Valley Elementary schools. She was a member of Conyngham United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader. She served as a board member of the Conyngham Valley Historical Society and Historical Brainerd Church. She was a board member and past president of Conyngham Valley Civic Organization and had served as the CVCO park program coordinator.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Roland, on Feb. 27, 2020; brothers, Carrol, William, Bud, Richard and Jack Reese; and sisters, Nancy Reese, Catherine Creasey and an infant sister.

Surviving are two children, Jeff Wolfe and his wife, Vicki, Conyngham; and Rena Bicking and her husband, Craig, Conyngham; six grandchildren, Brandon Bicking and his companion, Tabby Sushko, Drums; Jeremy Bicking and his wife, Maria, Exeter; Tyler Bicking and his wife, Trish, Drums; Cassidy Bicking, Conyngham; Gary Wolfe and his companion, Katie Feris, Philadelphia; and Carl Wolfe and his wife, Alyson, Freeland; three great-grandchildren, Daphne, Penelope and Myles; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.

Burial will follow in Conyngham Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. COVID-19 restrictions will be enforced at the funeral home and cemetery.
