Milton Lloyd Obituary

Milton Lloyd, 93, passed away Thursday.

He was a certified public accountant for more than 60 years. He was born in Scranton to the late John James Lloyd and Grace Noakes Lloyd, who lived in Taylor before moving to Hazleton in 1932.

Milton graduated from Hazleton High School in 1944. He was a veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged, attaining the rank of technical sergeant. Milton graduated from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 1952, with a bachelor of science degree in economics and a minor in law. He went on to get his certification in public accounting and established his own practice in 1957. Milton represented his clients with loyalty and dignity, always having their best interests at heart. He was always grateful to his devoted employees for their loyalty and good work ethics. Before retiring, he, along with long time employees, Edward R. Jacobs, C.P.A., and M. Sharon Yenchko, C.P.A, formed a new entity, Lloyd & Associates LLC; Certified Public Accountants.

Milton was a member of Hazleton Public Accountants Association; the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants; past president of Northeastern Chapter Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants; past member of State Council Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was a member of Hazle-Azalea Fellowship Lodge 0327; Greater Hazleton Shrine Club; Lehigh Consistory; Scottish Rite 32 degree member; and Irem Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. He was a past member of Board of Directors Masonic Temple Association. Milton was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and past treasurer and past member of church council. He enjoyed boating, snowmobiling and gardening.

Milton was predeceased by his first wife, Jacqueline Williams Lloyd; and son, Kimberly Mark Lloyd; as well as ten siblings, John Lloyd; Mary Jane Reimold, Franklin, Ethel Wilmon; Nathaniel; Thomas; Grace Andrews; Paul; Phillip; and Helen Lloyd.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Grace Fierro Paul Lloyd; daughters, Pam Harper (Dale), Granville Summit; the Rev. Jami Possinger (Mitch), Allentown; Mary Jane Martuscelli (David), Weatherly; and Idele Shannon Paul Helmer, Nazareth; and son, Franklyn D. Paul, Lakeville. Also surviving him are 16 grandchildren; Evan, Avery and Regan Lloyd; Dustin Harper; Ashley Shedden; Mackenzie Harper; Morgan Zimmerman; Sarah Balisalisa; Abigail White; Scott Possinger; Franklyn Jr. Paul; Jared Paul; Isabella Paul; Dasha Helmer; Bogdon Helmer; and Kyra Helmer. There are also 10 great-children; as well as Milton's brother, Neil Lloyd and wife, Betty; sisters-in-law, Shirley Lloyd, Barbara Lloyd and Mary Lloyd; and many nieces and nephews.
