Andrew J. Pitonyak Obituary

Andrew J. Pitonyak, 82, of Hazle Twp., passed away Thursday at his residence in Hazle Twp.

Born in Portage Twp. on Jan. 13, 1938, he was the son of the late Marion and Anna Krempasky Pitonyak and spent the past 20 years in Hazle Twp., after moving from Warminster.

Andrew graduated from Widener University in 1976 and was an engineer for Rohm & Haas, Bristol. He was a member of St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, Sugarloaf Twp. Andrew was grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, 8613 Our Lady of Fatima, Conyngham, for many years and previously held the position of faithful navigator in his council in Doylestown. He was a member of Eagle Rock HOA Architectural Review Committee and spent much of his time enjoying golf. He was an all-around "do-it-yourself" type of guy who loved woodworking and anything involving cabinet making. Andrew most enjoyed traveling and spending time with his wife and best friend, Sandy.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother, Stephen Pitonyak.

Surviving are his loving wife, the former Sandra Trexler, to whom he was married on Sept. 29, 1962, in Portage; three children, David Pitonyak and his wife, Lan, Fort Morgan, Colo.; Daniel Pitonyak, Warminster; and Melissa Stefanowski and her husband, Christopher, Warminster; six grandchildren, Christopher Stefanowski and Sarah, Perkasie; Alexis Stefanowski and Shane, Warminster; Alyssa Stefanowski, Warminster; and Cody, Simon and Nathan Pitonyak, all of Fort Morgan, Colo.; a great-granddaughter, Rylee Stefanowski; three brothers, Louis Pitonyak and his wife, Nancy, King of Prussia; George Pitonyak and his wife, Brenda, Kitty Hawk, N.C.; and Vincent Pitonyak and his companion, Sandy Squillario, James Creek; two sisters, Irene Krumenacker and her husband, James, James Creek; and Theresa Shedlock and her husband, Robert, Lilly; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, 573 Route 93, Sugarloaf Twp. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.

Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family.

COVID-19 restrictions on capacity, social distancing, and mask wearing will be enforced at all services.
