She was the daughter of Clarence and Eva (Kimmel) Strohl.

She was born Sept. 5, 1927, and was the last survivor of her sisters, Virginia, Norma, Caroline and Elaine. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John A. "Nook" Schnorr, to whom she was married 35 years; and her cat, Purrky, of 19 years.

Also surviving are nieces, Noreen D'Angelo and family; Leeann McDonald and family; and Melissa Budgeon and family; and nephews, Robert Reisenweaver and family; Dr. Matthew R.T. She was a great lover of reading, cats, soap operas and sports, especially Penn State football. She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ for many years after Grace UCC merged. She sang in both choirs combined for more than 50 years.

She was a 1944 graduate of Hazleton High School, later working at Autolite/Prestolite and Dorr Oliver. After a maternity break, she became library teacher at A.D. Thomas Elementary School. After that, she was executive assistant to the director of elementary education for the Hazleton Area School District before retirement in 1990.
