Cynthia Jo Johnson, 60, of Hazleton passed away Monday evening at her home following a one-year illness. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 21, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Robert Sr. and Hazel (Johnson) Johnson and spent the past 25 years in Hazleton after moving from Philadelphia. Cynthia had worked for the former Continental Can, Valmont. She enjoyed riding her scooter, walking her support dog, Juniper, trips to the Casino and traveling to the beach. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by brothers Michael, Robert Jr. and David Johnson; and a nephew, Paul Johnson. Surviving are her partner of the past nine years, Rose Ann "Roe" Wersinger; a sister, Teresa Mergo and her husband, David, Ashley; a brother, John Johnson, Pittsburgh; three nephews, Edward Johnson, Ringtown; Robert Johnson, Allentown; and Paul David Lehman, Boca Raton, Fla.
