Joseph John Goffa, 55, of Sugarloaf Twp. passed away Tuesday evening in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., after being in declining health for the past few years. Born in Hazleton on Dec. 9, 1965, he was the son of Joseph G. and Bernice (Takach) Goffa, Sugarloaf Twp., and spent most of his life in Sugarloaf Twp. after moving from Luzerne. Joseph had worked for Hershey Chocolate USA, Humboldt. He also loved to work as as "Joey G.," DJing at local events. He was a member of St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, Sugarloaf Twp. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Robert Goffa, Sugarloaf Twp.; a sister, Mary Kay Hargreaves and her husband, Brian, Chantilly, Va.; nieces and nephews, Abigail, Gabrielle and Caroline Goffa; Nicholas, Emily and Evan Hargreaves; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a date and time to be announced in the future from St. John Bosco R.C. Church, 573 state Route 93, Sugarloaf Twp. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 49 S. Hunter Highway, Drums. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of American at donate.epilepsy.com.
