Roger "Tucker" Daneker Obituary

Roger "Tucker" Daneker, a longtime resident of White Haven, passed away Wednesday in the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in White Haven, he was the son of the late Grace Daneker. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1955.

He was an avid hunter and was a member of the Barren Acres Hunting Club, White Haven. Tucker was also a member of the Masons, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the White Haven Volunteer Fire Company. He also enjoyed attending Coughlin's baseball and field hockey games, watching his grandchildren play.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his mother, were his wife, Karen "Dolly" Daneker; a brother, John "Snooky" Daneker; and 10 stepbrothers and sisters.

Surviving are his daughter, Alyson Slavish and husband, Edward, Wilkes-Barre, with whom he resided; grandchildren, Mykala and EJ Slavish; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at noon Feb. 6 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mountain Top. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service begins.
