Evelyn J. Howell Obituary

Evelyn J. Howell, 90, of Sugarloaf Twp., and a resident of Fritzingertown Senior Living Community for the past year, died Sunday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.

Born in Hazleton on Dec. 26, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (LaRock) Filoreto, was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church and a current member of St. John Bosco R.C. Church, Sugarloaf Twp.

Evelyn was a 1948 graduate of Hazleton High School and was employed for several years as a home furnishings consultant for Klemow Furniture, Hazleton.

She loved to bowl and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, James W. Howell; brothers, Alphonso, George, Frank, John, Rocco, Karl and Vincent Filoreto; and sisters, Frances Schneider and Theresa Filoreto.

Surviving are her son, James Howell and his wife, Dorothy, Alpharetta, Ga.; daughters, Lisa LaBraico and her husband, Frank, Sugarloaf Twp.; and Lynn Ferry and her husband, Ray, Sugarloaf Twp.; and grandchildren, Krista LaBraico and her fiancé, Michael Martin; Franco LaBraico; and his wife, Danielle; Ashley Howell, Molly Howell and RJ Ferry.

Evelyn's family would like to thank the staffs at Fritzingertown and the ICU in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton for the wonderful care and treatment she received during her time with them.

Friends may call at the Butler Chapel of Krapf & Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 530 W. Butler Drive, Drums, for a visitation period that will be held from 8 until 9 a.m. Friday.

The service will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated by the Rev. Ric Polmounter at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Bosco R.C. Church, 573 state Route 93, Sugarloaf Twp.

Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
