Suzanne J. Johnson Obituary

Suzanne J. Johnson, 79, passed away Sunday morning at Providence Place Senior Living, where she had been a resident.

Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Suzanne (Rondash) Artim and was a member of Most Precious Blood Church, Hazleton.

Suzanne had graduated from McAdoo High School and attended the Hazleton State Hospital's School of Nursing. She had worked at this hospital for her entire career, spanning 45 years. She worked on many of the units during her tenure, ending her career as an endoscopy nurse. She had also held the position of president of the Women's Auxiliary at the Hazleton General Hospital for many years.

Suzanne also loved music and was a member of the Most Precious Blood Church choir, as well as the Freeland Community Choir, but she would sing at many other churches in the Hazleton area!

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Stanley Johnson, in 2011; brothers, Michael and Joseph Artim; and sister, Mary Pellak.

Surviving are her daughters, Stephanie Johnson and her husband, David Campoli, Hatfield; Sandra LaMare and her husband, Thomas, Lake Ariel; and Sherry Daughtry and her husband, Mack, Hazle Twp.; grandson, Nicholas Campbell and his fiancée, Brittany Smart, Lansdale; sisters, Elizabeth Ann Porpiglia, Drums; Catherine Temprovich, McAdoo; and Carol Wargo, Quakake; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Most Precious Blood Church, Hazleton.

Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums, in a private ceremony.
