John C. Kalenak, 72, of Freeland passed away Tuesday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Shirley (Hartzel) Kalenak.
He was an honorably discharged U.S. Air Force senior master sergeant, where he was employed as a civil engineer building hospitals.
John loved his children and word games on his phone with family.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were brothers, Robert and Anthony.
Surviving are sons, John, Charles, Christopher and Andrew; daughter, Marie; sisters, Lorraine Andrews and Susan Shaffer; grandchildren, Abigail, Gage and Grace; and several nieces and nephews.
Private burial will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Hazleton.
McNulty Funeral Home, 494 E. Butler Drive, Freeland, is in charge of arrangements.
