Angela, Nanny and Lydia

January 28, 2013

My heart is heavy at the loss of my "second mom". She always welcomed me with open arms whenever my dad was sick or the time I spent with Lydia. I remember the time Lydia, Cindy and I went bike riding from Bently Creek to Millerton and back. Our butts were so sore we could hardly sit on the bike seat the last 5 miles. When we got home, Aunt Anna said to us, "why don't you girls come in and sit down and have some dinner." I said, "can I eat standing up or laying down?" She laughed her sweet laugh that I will always remember. I will miss her dearly

Picture I took of Nan and Pa at my cousin Mels wedding

Nanny and Pa were the best grandparents. They were like a second set of parents to a lot of us grandchildren. I have so many great memories with them. Every time we would stay they would make us panny cakes and eggs as Nanny would call them. Then at night we would have black walnut ice cream which I never really liked but I would eat it anyway. Nanny was the best "Nurse" too! She could fix up any boo boo. She had the best laugh and I will never forget it. When a bunch of us grandkids would spend the night we always ended up in their bed. Poor pa would get up and go sleep on the couch. Nanny always had the best way of correcting us when we would fight. we had to play Chug a Chugga, my cousins will know what that was. I will miss Nanny so much and cannot wait to see her again in Heaven.
