GOLIK, Edward J.
Age 85 of Horseheads, NY. He was born October 10, 1928 in Simpson, PA, son of the late Anthony and Mary (Webber) Golik and passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was predeceased by his wife Jane (Zepkowski) Golik in 2005; brother John Golik and sister Sophie Narcavage and is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Nick Marino of Elmira, NY; sons, Ed Golik of FL, Mike Golik of NC, and Tony Golik of OH; grandchildren, Jessica and Nicole Marino and Michael and Zachary Golik; sisters, Frances Golik and Antoinette Cerra both of Simpson, PA; along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Golik was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church. He retired from Thatcher Glass in 1984 with 32 years of service; was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army and was a member of the Elmira Heights American Legion Post 154; was a diehard Mets and NY Giants fan. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, May 22nd from 6 to 8 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Friday, May 23rd at 9:30 am, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Charles Borromeo Church. Rev. Christopher Linsler, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery, Elmira.
