Janet "Mitzie" (VanHouten) Keith Obituary
Keith, Janet Louise (VanHouten) "Mitzie"

March 30, 1935 - July 10, 2013

Born in Utica, NY, formerly of Horseheads, NY: Plant and flower lover, passionate cook, made the best fried chicken this side of Kentucky, studied recipes, appreciative of small things, touched hearts with her sensitivity, modest, liked to play games-euchre and played to win, had a great wit about her, a holiday hostess extraordinaire, humble, a planner and a thinker. Sunday ad coupon analyst, wise and frugal, she stopped to smell the roses, gracious, best homemade pierogie maker ever, enjoyed music, a classy and sassy lady, blessed with amazing ageless skin and gorgeous black hair, a genuine caregiver. Lover of Scripture and The Lord. Filled with a deep faith in God. Steadfast, the strongest woman ever. She had grit! Reese's peanut butter cup hoarder. Quick to forgive. Extremely organized. Sacrificed her own needs for others often. Kind. A teacher to many-for she was filled with wisdom. Opinionated and particular. A constant. The glue that kept her nine kids close. Ethereal. Devoted to her family. Loving wife to George Keith Sr. II, Mother and Grandmother we adored and will miss always. Peaceful journey, Janet.
