Richard S. Murdock

WATERTOWN Richard S. Murdock of Watertown died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, in Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. He was 82. Born in Portland, Maine, a son of the late Mark and Emily (Morse) Murdock, Richard was a senior designer for 35 years for the Polaroid Corp. in Cambridge until his retirement. Richard was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 121 in Brighton, a former Watertown Youth Hockey Coach, as well a Cub Scout Master. Richard enjoyed playing golf in his spare time and was also a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Navy. Richard was the brother of the late Charles J. Murdock and Mark J. Murdock. Richard leaves his wife, Gloria C. (Kavey) Murdock; his three sons, Richard S. Murdock and his wife, Lori, of Rockland, John R. Murdock and his wife, Kathy, of Newburyport and Robert E. Murdock and his wife, Hillary, of Allendale, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 a.m., from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Rte.20), Waltham, followed by a funeral Mass in Saint Lukes Church, 132 Lexington St., Belmont at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
