Robert Lintz Obituary

LINTZ, Robert L.
Age 85, of Horseheads, formerly of Elmira Heights and Spring Hill, FL, died peacefully at home on Saturday, November 7, 2009. Bob was the oldest son of the late Mamie Griswold Storch and Chester Lintz. His wife of 62 years, Patricia Reidy Lintz, predeceased him in 2005. He was also predeceased by sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou & Charles Reddon, brother Chester Lintz, Jr., sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen & Ivan Welch, Joseph & Genevieve Reidy. Bob is survived by children, Diane Pryslak, with husband Steve, of Romulus, MI, Linda Lintz of Horseheads, Robert Lintz, Jr., with wife Marie, of Rochester, NY; sister-in-law Mary Lintz of Green Bay, WI; grandchildren, Mary Patricia (Mark) Simkow, Michelle (Kurt) Mrocko, Stephen (Julie) Pryslak, Jeffery (Michelle) Pryslak, all of Michigan, Melinda Lintz of Rochester, NY; great-grandchildren, David and Tyler Hilbert, Mark Simkow, Olivia, Emma, and Elizabeth Mrocko, Daniel and Caitlin Kacic, Rachel and Spencer Pryslak, all of Michigan; along with many nieces, nephews, and loyal and devoted friends. Bob graduated from Thomas Edison High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre and was a POW in Germany during the last weeks of the war. Bob was retired, in 1979, from Facet/Purolator with over 30 years of service. He was active in the UAW Local 607, serving as the local union president for 15 years. Bob was a long time communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church. In earlier years he enjoyed golf, playing cards, and listening to good "old" music. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held there on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Committal prayers and interment, with full military honors, will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Bob through donations to either Meals on Wheels, 150 Fox Street, Elmira, NY 14901, Arctic League, P O Box 113, Elmira, NY 14902, or a charity of one's choice.
