Donald P. "Don" McDiarmid Jr., 88, of Kailua, a retired music producer, owner of Hula Records and "Hawaii Calls," and a World War II Army veteran, died in Castle Medical Center. He was born in Stockton, Calif. He is survived by wife Alva J., son Donald P. "Flip" III, daughters Mabby McDiarmid-Porter and Dee-Dee M. Wilson, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services: 3 p.m. Thursday at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Aloha attire. No flowers. Donations suggested to Hawaii Music Hall of Fame Foundation, American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
