Rufus Lillard Obituary
He was born on July 24, 1930, in Madison County, the son of the late James Thomas and Ethel Mitchell Lillard. He was also preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.
Mr. Lillard was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Lillard of Orange; one daughter, Grace Collier and her husband, Joe, of Barboursville; four sons, Tom Lillard and his wife, Sandra, Willie Lillard and is wife, Dale, Bob Lillard and his wife, Joanne, and Vernon Lillard and his friend, Wendy, all of Orange; a sister, Emily Cliborne and her husband, Carlton, of Luray; 11 grandchildren, Katelyn and Britney Collier, Michael, Chris, Tommy, Megan, Jennifer, James, Jessica, Robert and Bryan Lillard, Daniel Theis and Jennifer Evans; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Preddy Funeral Home in Orange with interment to follow at Bethsaida United Methodist Church Cemetery in Brightwood, Virginia (Madison County). The Reverend David Knighton will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the funeral home.
