George A. Rutherford, II passed away peacefully on December 11, 2020 at the age of 88 surrounded by his family at Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas.

Dad was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 10, 1932 to George A. Rutherford and Goldie Rutherford (nee Monroe), the youngest of two sons. He was a 1950 graduate of Roosevelt High School in St. Louis where he participated in football and track. In 1976 he moved to Parker, Texas where he made his home until recently when he moved to Kansas. Dad loved the Dallas Cowboys, classical music, smoking all types of meats in his custom made smoker and entertaining family and friends.

Dad was predeceased by his parents, his brother William I. Rutherford, and his grandson Thomas W. Rutherford.

He is survived by his children, Sheri Ramirez (Henry), George A. Rutherford, III (Kathleen) and Clifford I. Rutherford (Bonnie); step-children Kelly Perritt (Ricky), Robin Mitchell (Kelly) and Dax Rutherford (Lindsay); 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Dad will be cremated and his ashes laid to rest at a later date in St. Louis, Missouri beside his mother and brother.

We would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at Olathe Medical Center and Hospice House for their extraordinary care in making dad's final transition as comfortable as possible for all of us.
