Margie Marie Smith (née Barry) died in her home on December 15, 2020. She was 74 years old.

Margie was born on July 7, 1946 in Dallas, TX to Rita Hughes and Billy Jo Barry. She graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1964 and worked for Mesquite ISD for more than 40 years. She married Donald Smith in October 1967 and had four children and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Margie was an active, on-the-go person. She loved to walk and spend time with family, often taking her grandchildren out to different places like the pool, movies, and roller skating. For 15 years, she hosted foreign exchange students, providing them with what they needed and making them feel like family.
