Uncle George was one of my favorite Uncles. Fun loving and always had a huge smile on his face. Love you Uncle George.-Geri

Uncle George, you are a man that has been able to live through the worse, Korea and Vietnam, but yet still have a heart so filled with love that the Lord allowed you to touch so many lives here on earth and you brought joy to all of us and you have done since I have been able to call you Uncle George and when my Dad picked as my God Father if there would of been any reason for that to be filled, I know you would of taken the duties and responsibilities on with gusto and pride and my life would of never missed a step, Rest In Peace Dear Uncle of mine, father to few, grandfather to more and a big peace of everyone’s family we all love you and deeply miss you

I have wonderful memories of family visiting each other when I was growing up. My Dad (Clyde) was a brother to Aunt Beulah and I recall Uncle George always being so jovial and easy to be around. I enjoyed going to see Uncle George when we had a camper at the Waterway and on occasion meeting up with him at the Inlet View for seafood and fun conversation. Uncle George was a proud Marine and he served our country honorably and I thank him for his service. After his stroke it was a challenge for him to communicate verbally but he still gave great hugs. I pray he knew how well he was thought of and loved by me and my husband. Deepest condolences to Jordan, Jeremy, Michael and the extended family. George and Diane (Hewett) Witham Mebane, NC
