"Count Dooku" (David) was a member of Fannation on Sports Illustrated's web/blogging page. He was a member of "Death Trip Lounge", and I'm sure he would laugh it off the irony of being a member. He was a blogger on the "Lounge", and often wrote about the Green Bay Packers, and the Minnie Twins. When he stopped contributing to the "Lounge", I got a bit worried, and just found out today from another member that he had passed away. As I would sometimes say to him in emails "YIKES, and I'll see you on the flip side!" -Wisconsin Death Trip

I met David on line at Fan Nation, talking football. A Steeler fan and a Packer fan became good friends. Even though we never met face to face, I will miss him. I knew him as Count Dooku, and his wit and humor will be missed. My condolences to his family at this terribly sad time. Rest in Peace my friend.

On Fan Nation, he was the Count. He was a member of a select on-line family that will miss him dearly. Our thoughts are with his family in this time of loss. RIP Dave... (OBD)

"I also knew David from the sports website FanNation, in fact, it wasn't until tonight that I learned of his passing and his real name. I enjoyed talking with him about a laundry list of topics. He will be missed by many at the site. Rest in Peace Count Dooku."

I, too, came to know Dave through a sports web site. We never met, and I never even knew his real name, nor he mine. We cheered for different teams, but the two of us were cut from the same cloth, just dyed different colors.
In today's world of "virtual communities," he had many friends who will miss him.

I am so sad to hear this news, I knew Dave from a sports website, we talked frequently concerning the Green Bay Packers, I considered him a friend and I will miss him. I enjoyed his sense of humor and his down to earth nature. Rest In Peace...

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dave's family. I knew Dave many, many years ago while working at Woolworth downtown. We tend to remember those who were kind to us. He was always nice to me.

It's hard to know where to begin to express how much I am going to miss you Dave. We shared so much together. You were such a gentle giant who cared so deeply for people. I'm going to miss our talks, your jokes (even the crude ones!), your love of sci-fi, your marvel comic mania, and most of all your hugs! My heart is breaking. I love you eternally little brother...may The Force be with you!
