To the Hansen family,

I met Ed when I attended Lutheran Bible Institute in Teaneck, N. J., 1951-53. My most vivid memory is of his wonderful sense of humor, which lifted out spirits more than once.

I hope the fond memories you have of him will be some comfort to you in your time of grief.

My sincerest sympathy,

Bob Martin

I feel so fortunate to have been a part of the Hansen family circle of friends since 1960! Yikes! I have no doubt Ed is at peace. Thanks for the memories...but can you help me with the flavor cake I made for LeeAnne on Sept. 1 way back when? :-D

Dear Shirley, LeeAnn and Linda,
It's almost 11 o'clock on Thursday the 13th of August and from my bed here in Blair I'm remembering Ed and all the wonderful things we've shared through the years. I'm with you in spirit as you pay tribute to him and I join you in singing the final stanza of one of his favorite hymns:
With joy we approach our Father's land
where day is forever dwelling
where ready for us His mansions stand
where heaven with praise is swelling
and there we shall walk in endless light
with blest one's His praise forth telling.
Both Lorraine and I send you our deepest sympathy and we look forward to the day when we all rejoice together in heaven. I'm sure Ed will have have a special "Gathering" organized and ready for us!
Love,
Phil & Lorraine

Pastor Ed Hansen was a major influence on my development through the teen years, as my pastor at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. He was a major guide on the road to becoming a pastor. I thank God for him, and for Shirley. May God bless you Shirley, LeeAnne and Linda, with comfort, and with joy. I expect to be at Westwood for the service. I am scheduled to pick up Jaakko and Arja Rislakki from the airport on the 14th and go with him to our 50th HHS class reunion.

My highest regards.....
