We were always grateful to Monroe for being such a good guide on our winter trips. We enjoyed traveling with them because Monroe knew what would be interesting to see.We also miss the visits in the RV at Lake Kampeska. Those times were Special. Monroe was always kind and helpful and will be missed.

There are many great memories of the Dragsten family - Christmas in Wallace and waiting for the Minnesota relatives to arrive, threshing, and listening to the stories of the old days and more times than not the creative activities of my uncles and aunts. We spent many vacations at Monroe and Mildred's and were always the recipient of their hospitality. Monroe would want you to believe he was a rough and tough old guy but underneath that Norwegian stoicism was a kind heart. We'll miss that part of our heritage. Susan and I extend our sympathy to the M's.

Monroe was always good to me. But he liked to play tricks on me. I was 6 or 7 years old and asleep in the upsatirs bedroom. I was awakened by the sound of something scratching on the window screen. I was scared but summand enough courage to get out of bed to see what was causing the noise. I couldn't see anything. I slowly edged closer to the window and finally had my face right up to the screen. "SPLASH" I got hit in the face witha pan of cold water.

My Brother in law Monroe took such great pride and spent countles hours editing old family movies. He put them on VCR tapes then presented a copy to each brother and sister.

Uncle Monroe was alway kind to us boys and I alway enjoyed it when we could stay with he and Mildred. He had given me an old policeman's hat that I wore for a long time. I have onlyl good memories of Monroe.

Uncle Monroe was always fun to visit! His Norwegian jokes and tricks made me laugh every time. His big laugh and his big heart always made everyone feel welcome.

We have good memories of visiting with you folks while with Carol and Palmer. Earl still has a cap Monroe gave him that has a funny caption on it. Liked Monroe's sense of humor. We extend our sympathy.

The other thing I remember is that he always called me Katrina Josephina. He will be missed.

When I was little I remember his dry sense of humor and his smile. He could make me laugh. He enjoyed the humor of children.
