Dear Vi,
We remember so fondly our glorious Martin Luther Study--Augsburg alumni tour of Germany and Eastern Europe with you and Rolf in 2004. The two of you were an inspiration to those of us a bit younger in witnessing incredible stamina, love and concern for each other and us, intellectual curiosity and brilliance, great integrity and strong faith. It was a joy to experience this tour with you and Rolf. I know he will be greatly missed by you and many. I'm sending prayers and condolences your way. Warmest regards, Sue Klaseus

Dear Vi,

I was deeply saddened to learn of Rolf's death. He was the most Christ-like man I ever met. He never claimed his talents as his own but rather attributed all his gifts to God. He was humble, talented, loving and wise. He was truly a servant of God. We were so fortunate and blessed to have him at Westwood for so long. What a gracious man he was. My sympathies to you and your wonderful family. He touched so many lives in his walk with us here on earth. I'm sure the angels rejoiced to welcome him home to heaven.

To the Aasengs:
Thank you Norman for the phone call.
We are in Arizona and will be unable to be with you at Rolfs service.
We will be with you in spirit and prayer.
I have lost a cousin and good friend.

Rolf was a great friend and a great person to talk to. Helping him with Bible Cell was always an honor. He was truly a man for all seasons. You have many wonderful memories. I think of the musical efforts he did with the family to the youth of the church.

Pastor Aaseng provided strong sensitive leadership to our church, Luther League and confirmation class. He was my favorite minister.
