One dictionary describes a gentleman as “A well-mannered and considerate man with high standards of proper behavior.” I think that’s Jeff. And when that word is split, and I think of a truly "gentle" man, it’s even more Jeff. In conversations, he was an old friend the first time you met him. In actions, Jeff was forever the "go to" guy. Whatever it was, he could do it, make it, or fix it. And after this weekend, the term "Hee Hee Hee” will forever bring a large grin to my face.
I think it's safe to say that we are all much better persons for having known this very kind, unassuming and considerate man of high standards. Jeff was in every way a true gentleman.

People come from strange place to extend their sympathies. I don't know if you will remember me, but I was a good friend of John, and hung with that group back in the late 80's. Gary just sent an e-mail out to a few of us, and although I never knew you well, I want to send my deepest sympathies to you and your girls. We were so shocked to hear of Jeff's passing. He was such a great guy. Although we did not see him much the talk of hunting and fishing was always involved. The picture that is posted is the way I will always remember him. The hunting shack seemed to be a little piece of heaven on earth for Jeff. I can only imagine that the sorrow felt here while the good byes were said was outdone by the joy from Johnny welcoming him home. The laughter of those two can be heard all around.

Hi Laurie & girls so sorry for your loss. I met you guys in 1998 when i joined the Snoghosts. Jeff told me he was from up north and the rest was history, we became friends. Its nice to have friends, in the Fall of 2006 Jeff had left work early to take yet another relaxing motorcycle ride, its something he enjoyed. Well this Fall day Jeff called me & asked if i would go riding with him? I said "Of course!" I dropped what i was doing and off we went all afternoon, Jeff leading, we had a relaxing ride with great stories being exchanged at each stop. ANYTIME i saw Jeff we always had time to talk or have a beer. Also in common Jeff and I each have 3 daughters of similiar ages & our youngest child are both named Kayla (No boys...)Jeff & I talked about taking a snowmobile ride from St Francis MN to Grand Rapids MN in 1 day & staying at his brother Ralphs for the night & returning to St Francis MN the next day, we never fit it in.... now i am wishing we would have!! I never got to ride snowmobiles in the mountains with Jeff BUT locally in MN i did, usually with our families. The club ride that stands out was held in Bemidji Mn, our families hung out quiet a bit and the riding was great its 1 trip i won't forget!! Jeff was also the President of our Snoghosts snowmobile club at one time, he made the meetings entertaining in many ways!! Do you know that in August 2008 while i was camped out at the '08 Sturgis Bike Rally with a bunch of our friends that Jeff who was on a "west" ride stopped in for one night. It was Jeff, Ralph(Jeff's brother), Mike McCullom(our friend) & Byron Froh(Jeff's friend). They were able to get a taste of Sturgis but they were leaving the next morning. I had room in my tent for Jeff to spend the night, i didnt see any reason he had to undo his tent for 1 night. You know Jeff after he was convinced he wasn't putting me out he said "Sure i will sleep in your tent, thank you." I talked hunting with Jeff a lot, i don't know if you saw it in him or not but Jeff came across as a "Iron Ranger"(I am also an Iron Ranger). I think Jeff really enjoyed it "Up North". I am glad i met Jeff and his family, they are all very nice people and i wish only the best for them!!! Take care you gals and don't be afraid to call one of your friends for help, I dont want to see Laurie up on the roof, we have great friends!!!!! Metzer

Little One, as I told you, I don't even know what to say. It seems so long ago and then again, like only yesterday that you were married and we stood in the choir loft looking down on the church before the ceremony began. God blessed you with many years, great memories and 3 beautiful girls. While we have no idea where this new path will lead you, know that He will walk with you and that Jeff loved you so very much.
Laina, Terra and Kayla - Where do I begin? I know that your Daddy loved you all very, very much; the smile on his face when each of you was born was the proud smile only a Daddy could give. He helped to instill great values, integrity and character in each of you. I know that you will miss him very much but he will remain in your hearts always.
To my extended families - the Pojars and the Skoglunds - there are no words to express how much Jeff was loved by all of you or how he will be missed. I can only suggest the memories of times shared in happiness and joy when thinking of him.

John, the kids and I are deeply saddened by the unfortunate accident that claimed Jeff's life. We can not begin to express the disbelief we feel and the emotions we have. We do want all of you to know that we are here for you if and when you need us. We realize it may not be now or next week, but just remember that we are here for you, even 6 months from now when times are tough and you need some help.
Remembering Jeff,
We can remember all the wonderful times spent with you and your family at the cabin, snowmobiling, camping when the kids were younger etc. Jeff always made sure everyone was happy and always liked to talk and hang out with the "boys", being he had 3 girls. We can truly say we will all remember him as a happy man with a fulfilled life full of people that loved him!

We will miss him.. Jeff and Laurie were the only people we knew when we moved to the Saint Francis area in 1994. Their friendship made our integration into the community a much better experience. Jeff rescued us from car trouble multiple times, and if we had any other trouble was always there for you if you needed help..
