I just became aware of Paul's passing, but I wanted to say something in his memory. 40 some years ago I had the pleasure of coaching the best youth football player I was ever too see, at Waite Park. I realized then that I was coaching not only a great player, but also an amazing person. Over the years, we would attend the same functions at Edison banquets or St. Anthony football games, and Paul would always seek me out to chat and share memories.
I am so sorry for your loss, and I will remember Paul as one of the greatest I have ever known.

A treasured friend left us and he left an imprint on our hearts and souls of light and love. Paul was truly a fun loving person with an incredible personality. His pride for his boys was always evident. And his gift for telling a story along with sound affects, hand gestures and facial actions will remain in our hearts forever. He would often bring little gifts when he came over with a little story about them. We will treasure those items forever...like we will treasure his friendship. We love you Paul and we will miss you forever.

I would like to extend my sympathy for your loss of Paul. I met him through my brother and I used to run into him down in White Water State Park while hunting. I am very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. We always delighted when we knew "Pauly" was coming to our farm he so elequently named "Ground Zero" - you get the picture. Dear Mitch, Preston, Dawn,and Brandes Family,
We want you all to know how sorry we are for your loss. Paul was such a good friend and neighbor at the cabin. Always willing to help whenever we needed a hand hauling refrigerators to the loft (Ray, Mitch and Preston did most of the heavy lifting!), or lending a hand with our many building adventures. Playing yard games, fishing contests, snorkling and swimming were some of the fun memories that we will always have of Paul. He made our cabin trips so much fun when he was up there, with his humor and stories. Our family has always felt a part of the Brandes family, so we feel like we have lost one of our own today. Mitch and Preston, we watched you grow up into the most amazing people. Your Dad was so proud of each of you. Never forget that.
