Oh the tall good lookin boy that had nice teeth and a great smile who seemed to be interested in my daughter, here we go I thought. Eric, the very nice and polite boy that dated Susie. I think they were great friends.
Eric always had a hug for all the older people, including me. He's in my heart.

He has journeyed through life on the swiftest of wings
He has never looked back, not one to dwell on things
Living life on the edge, his days always filled with fun
There weren't too many things that he hadn't already done
Laughing eyes, alive and bright, filled with stories to be told
You could drown in his hypnotic gaze, the window to his soul
His courage and strength spoke volumes, through anecdotal quips
While a mischievous grin played at the corners of his lips
With compassion in his veins, like a river running deep
And gentleness his demeanor, which he shall forever keep
He was startlingly handsome, but his insides held the key
For it was beauty from within, that made him friend to many
Yet one day he left, without a backward glance he was gone
No fond farewells, last goodbyes, to warn of heartache to come
But forever lives his heart, a heart that has never ever lied
A heart that still holds, a love that can never really die
He has paved the way, blazed a path, that we have yet to follow
His colorful journey has far from ended, for life is not that shallow

I only met Eric a few times, but each time I did he had a smile on his face and something funny to say. He will be greatly missed by all who were a part of his life. His charm will never be forgotten!!

Dear Ann & Gareis Family,
Eric played High School Hockey for Coach Marchand in Rogers. When Eric was done playing his game and got undressed the first thing he would do is look for Spencer(Coach Marchand's son) who was 7 years old. Eric would always want to play with him and Spencer couldn't wait until he was done playing so he could play with his friend. He even went to Coach and would beg him to let Spencer ride the bus back to school if they were at away games. Spencer now at age 13 still remembers how great Eric was to him. He will be deeply missed and NEVER forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always!

He was always a prankster, but it was always done in a fun loving way~ he always had a way of making you laugh and forget how rotten your day may have been, even if it was by making fun of you or pulling a joke on you! What another terribly sad loss you are having to deal with again this year. I hope you know that our hearts are grieving with you. Your son was certainly a handsome man, he looks just like you. Stay close to your friends and learn from the strength Sue showed when Paul died. We will never understand why this happened but we need to be thankful for all the wonderful experiences and memories you shared with your son. Eric will be missed and loved by many people. There was just something about him when he walked in a room. The smile on his face, his sense of humor and we all know he liked to joke around and you never knew when to believe him! He could fool anyone! We all have many special memories of Eric and we will all have to cherish those memories forever!! My heart is torn in two and my prayers go out to everyone.

My Brother, he was a man filled with love, laughter, compassion and joy. He was a man who would look through the negative in things and find the positive. He would then instill that to everyone around him. With Eric, the glass was always half full and if it was empty, he would find a way to fill it, and always with a smile. My Brother seemed to touch everyone he met in some way shape or form. There was nothing he couldn't do or accomplish when he put his heart and mind to it, the world was his for the taking and by god he was going to take it. And take it he did, because EVERYONE who is reading this knows that he has his arms around us, the world, protecting us. God was getting tired and needed someone strong enough to help with this extraordinary task. That someone was Eric. He is with us not in person but in out hearts or minds and in our souls. He is everywhere, just be careful, the next time you are going to the bathroom, he might be looking at you, or hit your cell phone out of your hand into the toilet and laugh about it. Thanks for that buddy!!!! Not funny! Anytime you have a little helping hand, just look up in the sky and say thanks. He always said he looked up to me, but if he only knew how much I looked up to him. My little brother, not a day, minute or second will go by with out you on my mind, I will cherish every moment we talked and shared. I will Love you always and forever.
