Daniel, mi queridísimo hermano! Cómo quisiera poder charlar un rato con vos! Ya hace 9 años que te nos fuiste ! Y desde que falleció mamá, qué difícil sin los dos para mí! Te extraño y te recuerdo mucho, especialmente cuando hablo con Alex y Gabriella o cuando los veo. Qué orgulloso estarás de ellos! Seguro los estarás guiando desde el cielo!

Mi queridisimo hermano, te sigo extranando muchisimo! Tomorrow, February 14, is the one year anniversary of your untimely death. I do not need a special day to think of you, but I would like to do something special to honor you and your life on every anniversary. You always called Kelly on February 14 to wish her a Happy Birthday, remember? She says you always made her laugh, and "Tio Daniel always said things that made me feel good about myself!" Since tomorrow is her birthday, I want to celebrate with her, I know thst is exactly what you would like me to do, but... I feel a need to let you know. So, I am planning to take you with me to your favorite beach, by the Newport pier, on February 16... that was the day, last year, when I learned we had lost you forever. I will try to focus on all the happy moments we spent together, on some of our best and most positive telephone conversations, text and email exchanges...
You probably know that I stay in contact with Alex and Gabriella and that you are always with them... you are guiding their steps, they love you and miss you so very much!

My dearest brother, mi queridisimo Daniel, I will miss you so much! Cuanto te voy a extranar! I miss you already! It is impossible for me to accept that I will never be able to talk to you again, see you again. Just as Rita said, my life will never be the same. It gives me some comfort to know that you knew how much I loved you, just wish I would have traveled to Minnesota more often to see you, to spend time with you, ask you for your opinion on my things, and just be able to do more for you. My love for you will never end and I will miss you every single day of my life. I have no idea how I will manage from now on, not being able to call you, text you, email you.... it's going to be very, very hard, my dearest brother. I told you several times that "you could not die before I did because that would kill me!" Remember? Now, I just ask you, please, to help me from your new home in Heaven, and send me some good advice (as you have in the past!) on what I should do to recover from this great feeling of loss that has taken over my mind, heart and soul. I hope that with your help, God's help and that of my dear wonderful family and good friends, I'll be able to be happy again, but one thing is for sure, nobody will be able to fill the void you have left. Again, I'll miss you every single day of my life and you will always be in my heart. One more thing, I am very, very proud of you! So sad to hear about Danny's passing. We worked together at the hospital and recently learned we both had sophomore dancers at different scchools. We enjoyed talking about the dance teams and our Italian heritage. Danny will be truely missed at the hospital.
