Mary Engelman Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at St. Joseph Church in Peru with Rev. Gregory Jarzombeck, OSB officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Webster Park. Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM at the church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru.
Jane was born on January 25, 1927 in La Salle to Francis and Frances (Widlowski) Klug. She married Leo A. Engelman on September 21, 1946 in St. Valentine Church in Peru. He passed away on April 16, 2018. Jane was primarily a homemaker but also worked at Electrical Utilities and for M&M News Agency. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Peru and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Jane is survied by her daughters: Karen (Dennis) Panier of Peru and Janice (Bob) Bednar of Eau Claire, WI, four grandchildren; Julie (Andy) Zelenski, Chad (Molly) Panier, Sarah (Adam) Boss and Patrick Connolly and seven great-grandchildren; Aiden, Abby, Ella, Hannah, Jack, Connor and Easton. Also surviving is her brother Donald (Marlene) Klug of Peru.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters; Irene Mersch and Frances Kunkel and one son-in-law, Michael Connolly.
Pallbearers will be Chad Panier, Patrick Connolly, Andy Zelenski, Adam Boss, Aiden Zelenski, Jack Panier, Connor Boss and Easton Boss.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a memorial to be determined.
