BROOKLET -- Mr. Craig "Peepa" Shuman, 61, passed away on Tuesday at his residence.
Mr. Shuman was born in Statesboro to the late George and Jeanette H. Shuman on February 25, 1957. Mr. Shuman was a former detective for the Bryan County Sheriff's Office for many years and more recently served as a mechanic for Bulloch County Correctional Institute.
He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, loved music and mostly loved his time with the children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Craig was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Shuman.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle "Shelly" Shuman of Brooklet; sons, Robert Shuman (Cindy) of Effingham, Daniel Shuman (Cassi Cordell) of Greenville, S.C.; daughters, Jenny Lea Shuman of Statesboro, Wendy Shuman (Josh Corley) of Effingham, Red Lariscy (Brandon Deal) of Brooklet, Stephanie Lariscy (Dylan Stafford) of Statesboro and Shelby Lariscy (Brandon Bragg) of Hinesville; brothers, David Shuman of Groveland and Michael Shuman of Savannah; sister, Nina VanGiller of Groveland; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Northside Cemetery with Elder Steve Taylor officiating.
