Robbie Murray, age 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 1, 2019, at Aiken Regional Medical Center, Aiken, S.C.
He was a Bulloch County native, born April 19, 1955, to Ruth Hendrix Murray and John Sheddy Murray Sr. in Statesboro, Georgia.
Robbie was a 1972 graduate of Marvin Pittman High School and was of the Baptist faith.
Robbie began his 25-year career as a civil engineer with the Bechtel Company, working in Amarillo, Texas, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Knoxville, Tennessee, before settling down in Graniteville, South Carolina, and retiring from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions.
In his spare time, Robbie enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs football fan.
Above all, he loved his family and spending time with them.
Robbie was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Kathy LeMaster Murray; his father, John; brothers, John Sheddy Murray Jr., Rickey Murray, Clifford Murray; sister, Judy Murray; and father-in-law, Clyde LeMaster.
Robbie is survived by his son, Brad (Lori) Murray of Polk City, Iowa; son, Blake Murray of Graniteville; daughter, Blair Murray of Graniteville; grandchildren, Dustin, Dawson and Destiny Murray of Polk City; mother, Ruth Hendrix Murray; and sister, Dean Hendrix, both of Statesboro, Georgia; mother-in-law, Bette T. LeMaster of Graniteville; and brother-in-law, Chris (Patti) LeMaster of Rocky Ford, Georgia. Robbie will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
A private memorial service will be held.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the in Robbie's memory.
