STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Watson Edward Chance Jr., age 64, passed away on Monday morning, December 31, 2018, at Westwood Nursing Home under the care of Compassus Hospice.
He was a native of Bulloch County, but was reared in Plainfield, New Jersey, where he received his education, having graduated from Plainfield High School in 1972. He was last employed by the Statesboro Regional Library.
He is survived by two sisters, Angela Dianne Chance (Walter Duncan) Lawrenceville, Ga.; and Grace Chance Fuller, Statesboro, Ga.; two nephews, Jamil Fuller and Kareem Fuller; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Chance will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. at the Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church with the pastor, the Reverend DeBroah Lanier, officiating. Burial will be in the Scarboro Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive family and friends from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church.
Public viewing for Mr. Chance will be held from noon until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
