SYLVANIA -- Linda Faye Spence McBride, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Reidsville, Ga., to the late Fred Hinton and Mary Lee King Spence. She was retired from Glendale Nursing Home, where she was the administrator, and was a member of McDonald Baptist Church. She was also a member of Girls Read In The South (G.R.I.T.S.), was the author two books, "Mema Has Cancer" and "Why Not Me," was a loving lady and was good to everyone. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Spence.
Survivors: husband, Robert L. "Bob" McBride of Sylvania; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Ray and Keith Oglesby of Sylvania; sons, Tommy Ray of Augusta, Ga., and the Rev. David Lee Ray of Los Angeles, Calif.; bonus daughters and sons-in-law, Angela M. and Rob Mesecher and Stephanie M. and Chris Burke, all of Sylvania; brothers and sisters-in-law, the Rev. Larry and Mildred Spence of Reidsville, Ga., and Steve and Joy Spence of Rincon, Ga.; grandchildren, Hunter Oglesby, Hannah Oglesby, Micah Mesecher, Sarah Mesecher, Cade Burke and Braylon Burke, all of Sylvania; a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Friday, November 29, 2013, 10- 11 a.m. at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral service: Friday, November 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Ray, Mrs. Joy Spence, the Rev. Rob Mesecher and Dr. Jack Gatlin officiating. Burial will be in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Spencer Houston, Peyton Houston, Brandon McBride, Robert Thompson. Kyle Houston, Stuart DeHoff, Megan Spence and Tabitha Fay Register.
Remembrances: , 515 Denmark Street, Suite 500, Statesboro, GA 30458.
