Ora Nell Harkins Ora Nell Harkins, 93, of Hutto and formerly of Taylor, born in Coupland, went to meet her Lord and join her adoring husband, Jesse Keith "Wimpy" Harkins on December 2, 2012. She had celebrated her 93rd birthday on November 21st. Ora Nell was born in Coupland, Texas; she went to business school in San Antonio, and, after marrying in 1940, lived much of her life in Taylor where she became active in the community. She owned her own business - the Taylor Credit Bureau - and was a highly respected professional and member of the community, eventually following in her husband's footsteps serving as a Justice of the Peace. She was known for her kindness, creativity, intelligence, commitment to others and her faith. Her friends and family appreciated her warmth, wit and style. Her home was the center of family holidays, including the extended family of friends and acquaintances that were always welcome. She was direct, smart, creative, funny, strong willed and feisty, famous among her friends and family for her cooking and her poker playing. Loved ones who preceded her in death include her parents, Edward and Clara Marburger, brothers Lonny and Edward "Tony" Marburger. Among those who will miss her more than words can express are her adored and adoring son Jay Keith Harkins, his wife her 'daughter' Alyson and granddaughters Courtney and Alexis; her beloved and loving daughter Jessica Shahin and her 'son' Jim and grandson Sam, and many friends and family members. Her family will miss her terribly, but they know she is having a party with family and friends in the sweet hereafter; God's speed dear, sweet, beautiful Mother. A private family service will be held at a later date. Services under the care and consideration of Condra Funeral Home.

I was saddened to read of the passing of Mrs Harkins. My grandmother ,Irma Miller Kruse , was a sister of her mother's. My dad , the late Olan Kruse , was Ora Nell's cousin and was also born in Coupland just a little less that 2 years after Ora Nell. My mother Lucille Kruse of Kingsville,tx and my wife Gloria join me in sending our condolences to the family.

Just wanting you all to know I am so sorry for your loss. I have some special memories of your parents from many years ago. They were both awesome people. If I remember right I used to go into the store where Wimpy and Ora Nell had their credit union and it was also the Western Union. Dont remember why i went there. Anyway, lots of love and prayers to all of you. I know their memories will remain deep in your hearts...Lots of hugs to you!

Many fond memories of the Harkins family gatherings at Aunt Ora Nell and Uncle Wimpy's house in Taylor. I always thought theirs was the most beautiful and welcoming home I'd ever seen at Christmas time. Full of laughter, delicious aromas from the kitchen, and decorations everywhere you looked. Rest in peace Aunt Ora Nell. I'm sure you are adorning heaven with your beauty and humor.
Fondly, Penny Blair (& family)
