Bill Wittenbrook Bill Wittenbrook, aged 70, was a wonderful husband and father who loved corny jokes. He was born September 14, 1942 to Dr. John Wittenbrook and Gilda Falcone Wittenbrook. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio with eight brothers and sisters: Sue, Dick, Fred, Pam, Jim, Marcia, Larry, and Joe. As a young man, he attended the University of Notre Dame, where he received a Bachelors of Science. He went on to earn a Masters of Computer Science at the University of Binghamton. He married Linda in September 1965 and they had almost 48 wonderful years together. He had a long career at IBM in computer, analysis, and information systems which took Bill and Linda to Binghamton, New York; to Boca Raton, Florida; and to Austin, Texas, where they settled for nearly 40 years. For the last eight years of his career he worked for the Texas Department of Health. Bill and Linda have three children Brian, Greg, and Sara, who married Pam, Wendy, and Steven, respectively, who gave them six grandchildren: Jack, Seth, Mattie, Nora, Samantha, and Harriet. Bill died Wednesday, January 23 after a 2-year fight with leukemia. His wit, care, and dedication will be deeply missed by his friends and family. The family will have a celebration of Bill's life Sunday, January 27 from 2:00-5:00. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society or Hospice Austin will be appreciated.

Bill and Linda--you were a major part of the Wittenbrook "fun". You were so gracious in all our trips to Austin, the perfect hosts! we cherish the CD, the Collection, the surprise parties, the humor of Bill. We thank God for Bill and his family. He is sorely missed. Love,Karen

I am so sad at Uncle Bill's passing. He was such a kind and gentle man. Living in NY, I didn't see him or Aunt Linda often, but the memories I do have are vivid and happy ones. I do hope that those closest to him- Aunt Linda and his children (my cousins), are comforted by their many memories of him. This is a great loss.

Uncle Bill- I remember the day we pulled into Austin, Texas shortly after my parents divorced. Mom was in her 30's & single with 3 kids in a U-Haul. We were all confused and scared in our new town that was so far away from our dad, friends, school and everything we had known. The moment we set foot in your home you made us all feel like we were home again. You were our rock back then when we needed that stability. My mom said if it weren't for you and Aunt Linda we would not have made it. Thank you for always being there for us and all of the things you did for us. I love you and will always smile in my heart at the times we spent together in Austin. Thank you for being you!

Bill Wittenbrook was one of the best people I have ever met. I worked with him at the Texas Department of State Health Services. Bill was always in great spirits and his contributions to the State of Texas are too numerous to mention in this space. I am blessed to have known him and his beautiful wife, Linda. Many blessings of comfort to Bill's wife, Linda, and his family during this time. Bill Wittenbrook - Ever Onward! my friend. You are missed.
