Brian Rose never gave up hope that he would beat the stage 4 melanoma ravaging his body. The Cedar Park man, who successfully battled his insurance group to pay for an experimental treatment, died on Thursday. But he never lost his positive attitude, said his wife, Lupe Ruiz Rose.

I had the pleasure of briefly taking care of Coach Rose & immediately liked him. Even through the pain & anguish I could see, he still kept the positive attitude that he would win this fight. My deepest condolences to Mrs. Rose who I did not see waiver in her support, his family & all that knew coach.
