Margaret Louise Peisker McCarthy Margaret was born November 30th, 1919 in Austin Texas to Roland Peisker and Ella Mae Robertson Peisker. She died in Austin on February 12th. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Edward Eugene McCarthy and grandson Shawn McCarthy. She is survived by son Bill and wife Carolyn McCarthy of Shenandoah Texas, son Donny McCarthy of Austin and daughter Kit and Tommy Randall of Austin. Grandchildren Kevin and Kate McCarthy, Brian and Chelsea McCarthy, Stacey and Markus Beeby and Polk and Sarah Randall plus four beautiful great granddaughters. A lifelong resident of Austin, the fiery red-head joined the Navy during WWII in a quest to see the world. After only four months training in Brooklyn New York as a Parmacist Mate, she was assigned to the Naval Air Station Hospital in Dallas. There she met her soon to be "Yankee Husband" and married. After the war, they returned to Austin and started the legendary Shamrock Cleaners. Maggie was a typical housewife of that time. She was a wonderful seamstress and could always be counted on to make the best Halloween costumes. She enjoyed painting and drawing, but most time was spent trying to corral her three young children (we were a handful!). A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Thursday February 28th at 2pm.
